Geselle Arrate

I have been tattooing for over 8 years. My career emerged naturally out of my love for creating; there is something about my love for nature and connection that constantly inspires me to create more. My designs are forever evolving and typically contain organic matter. My work highlights the life cycle, spiritual world representations, and imaginative beings. Taking these 2-D designs and permanently marking them into the skin is my expertise. Bringing these ideas to life is my greatest joy. 

I began my journey in my home state, California, where I gained influence from the artists that emerged out of Southern California in 2000-2015. The desert and Socal tattoo culture is a huge part of my upbringing and decision to pursue tattooing. I keep where I came from in mind with every new design I create. 

I work with the natural, spiritual, and mythical: plants, animals, mountains, skeletons, decay, fire, water, sun, moon, light, shadows, and beings of all kinds. Growing up in the east suburbs of LA taught me how to appreciate humanity but also how to appreciate nature when I was able to get away from the cityscape. The trees, mountains, plants, and creatures of the night have my heart. Using shapes and textures found in nature to bring my own beings and other mythological creatures into my works.  

I’m currently tattooing in South Denver, Colorado. I’m open to both large and small projects in black & grey, color, or a combination. My styles of expertise include illustrative, neotraditional, dark art, surrealism, and realism. I am always open to different styles and hearing your creative ideas.
